At the core of any successful business are people. After all, businesses don’t partner; people do. I strongly believe that partnerships lead to higher productivity and create stronger internal and external relationships by building trust, facilitating positive exchanges, respectful interactions, beneficial outcomes, future potential, and leadership excellence.

I am a consummate professional with a rare combination of both creativity and pragmatism. With over a decade of experience in sales, business development, marketing, and communications, I have developed a strategic nous and business acumen to navigate complex partnerships.

    My manifesto...

I am GUIDED by the notion than an intellectual capital powered 'knowledge economy' enables communities and organizations to be market-driven, responsive, agile and resilient in a fast-moving world.

I BELIEVE in building the ‘agency’ of professionals and intellectual capital – empowering them to own and deliver their own strategy.

I VALUE innovation, ideas, collaboration and inter-disciplinary thinking and bring this ethos to all my projects and interactions.

I believe in the power of collective impact – bringing together different perspectives and great minds to resolve problems.

I am passionate about integrating social good into business and creating a community collaborative where we live, work, and play. I pledge to giving back by dedicating time, funding, resources, and through community involvement and individual giving. My favorite organizations include: Words, Beats, & Life, Inc., Washington Area Women's Foundation, Junior Council, Smithsonian Institution, and the Maryland Family Network.

Words that outline who I am: Driven. Passionate. Ethical. Creative. Social. Resourceful. Authentic. Purposeful. Learning.

"It is the ultimate luxury to combine passion and contribution. It’s also a very clear path to happiness." – Sheryl Sandberg

  • Washington Post feature on #genderpaygap and #equalpay legislation

'More state, city lawmakers say salary history requirements should be banned'

I am featured in this Washington Post story about the #genderpaygap and #equalpay legislation along with Public Relations Strategist Keosha Burns.

I believe the wage gap is a symptom of unconscious gender bias and often results from an ongoing cycle of women being underpaid, setting salary expectations too low, and ultimately receiving less in subsequent roles. In my opinion, the only way to break that cycle and equalize compensation is to end salary secrecy (talk to your peers and friends about their salaries, do your research and make a strong case), data-driven negotiation and setting bargaining expectations.

I advocate for women to champion and advocate for each other in the negotiation process. My advice is to utilize your personal network--We share so much about parenting, dating, beauty tips, etc. but when it comes to career tips, we need to ensure that we present a collective voice to affect change.
